IIFM or Indian institute of forest management is a institution of national repute. The institute is situated in Bhopal the capital of Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. The institute is an autonomous institute under the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India. IIFM gets financial support from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).

The motto of the institute is to train human resource for the management. This institute of its own kind also works as a training institution for imparting training to personnel of Indian forest service. The institute also provides training to Indian Forest Service, Forest Departments, Forest Development Corporation and related industries to hone their skills in forestry development.

In today?s world of ecological degradation, the institute plays a good role by providing e manpower training to the individuals and organizations related to the cause of preservation of forest and maintaining the delicate balance of nature which is no mean task.

Besides being a training institution, the institute also runs PG diploma, M. Phil and fellow programs in related disciplines. The mission statement of the institute emphasizes on preparing leaders in forestry in congruence with environmental and ecological conservation.

In addition to this, IIFM also provides trained teachers for related fields.
