Arakkaparambil Kurian Pillai popularly known as A K Antony is an Indian Politician and member of Indian National Congress Party, who has served Kerala as being Chief Minister of state three times. At present, he is Union Minister of Defence in the second term of United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government in the Prime Ministerialship of Manmohan Singh. He is also a senior member of the Cabinet Committees on Accommodation, Economic Affairs, Political Affairs, and Security.

Antony was born at Cherthala, Distt. Alappuzha (Kerala) on 28th December 1940. He graduated in Law from Mahatma Gandhi University and he entered into politics during his study. He joined the Congress party but two time he separated from it ? first time he joined Congress party Urs and second time he founded his own party Congress Party (Antony), (Congress A). But, at present he is chairman of the Disciplinary Action Committee of the All India Congress Committee and member of the Central Election Committee and the Congress Working Committee (CWC). There is also a speculation that his name can be promoted from the congress party of Presidential election to be held on June 2012.

Antony had married to Elizabeth Antony on 17th March 1985 and the couple have two sons.
