Groups & Teams

The 9 th ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 contested between 16 teams from 5 continents is the largest one in its kind. All 10 test-playing nations along with Kenya have automatically qualified for the tournament but there are five new teams such as Bermuda, Canada, Ireland, Netherlands, and Scotland who has gained status for One-day International (ODI) status by participating in different trophies organized by ICC.

All 16 teams are placed in different groups as per given below and the International Cricket Council decides their placements after considering various reasons based on logics. Here, the main point that has been taken into consideration is their ranking status as per their performances until April 2005.

Group A – Australia, South Africa, Scotland, Netherlands

Group B – Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh, Bermuda

Group C – New Zealand, England, Kenya, Canada

Group D – Pakistan, West Indies, Zimbabwe, Ireland

All teams have declared their best 15 member squads for the up coming events. In the next page we will discuss the profile of each team.
