Cuba News: Cuba is the most populous of Caribbean countries and situated on the Greater Antilles near the Mexico Bay. Before its liberation in 1959 and installation of a socialist regime by Fidel Castro, Cuba was under the reign of dictator Fulgencio Batista who was supported by the US dispensation. Since then Cuba has faced more than four decades of US sanctions and many abortive attempts by the US regime to effect a regime change in Cuba. In spite of these setbacks Cuba has made remarkable progress in healthcare, education, women empowerment. The country received steady Soviet support during the cold war, which later stopped owing to the collapse of the Soviet bloc in 1991. Cuban economy has managed to soldier on largely due to the cheap oil imports from Venezuela and Chinese investments. The country has many beautiful beaches, bays and port cities that are a popular tourist attraction for people from all over.
