Sep 01: A study conducted by Catherine Mosher of Duke Medical Center and Sharon Danoff-Burg from state university of New-York, in Albany revealed that womeare giving priority to their life goals rather than to romantic relationships.

Study was conducted on 237 students aged 16 to 25 years including 80 boys and 157 girls who were to fill a questionnaire regarding their romantic relationship on the one hand and career, education and other achievement goals on the other.

Questionnaire was prepared to investigate if life goals which included physical fitness, travel, financial success, property ownership contribution and career and education are affected by personality traits. They focused on the relative significance of romantic relationships and destinations of life.

The findings of research perverted the previous opinion which said that women think with their hearts and give priority to relationships and people rather than career objectives.

Catherine, a PhD student of clinical psychology and a scholar of gender issues brought this fact to light that men are more willing to sacrifice their career and education for a romantic relationship in life.

Research is completely theoretical and needs to verify the commitments of boys to romantic relationship. The researcher herself says that these students are to establish the fact that they give romantic relationship highest value in life.

There is no way in which their actions in life may be traced. And it is not necessary that they materialize what they said on paper. But still it indicates the way college students think.

Factors behind this tendency of men to sacrifice career, education and other life goals for enjoying a romantic relationship and giving love a priority have not been investigated in the study. And several other factors societal, mental, psychological and physical may play a role in determining the priority.

It simply helps women to denounce the tag that they are emotional beings and take decisions based on feelings. Study revealed that they are getting career conscious and preferring career to relationships.
