Biranchi Das arrested on Budhia's allegation

Budhia, the marathon runner and his mother Sukhanti Singh have alleged Biranchi Das, coach of Budhia of physically torturing him.

Budhia who is a six year old marathononder, has alleged that his coach once hung him upside down from a ceiling fan with his legs tied and switched the fan on.

His coach also assaulted him with hot iron rod and put chili powder into his eyes.

Sukhanti Singh who does not want to send Budhia is singing a different tune who earlier said Biranchi Das as Budhias ‘foster father’, told that Biranchi Das is making money on Budhias name. And he did not help them financially as he promised. Biranchi Das a local judo coach is said to be the mentor of poverty stricken Budhia.

The police have arrested the coach after Sukhanti Singh lodged a complaint against him in Baragada Police station.

Biranchi Das has different story to tell, he accused Sukhanti Singh of always asking money to him and doubted that some other person would have mounted pressure on them to lodge this complaint.

Budhias marathon run has attracted lots of human right concerns regarding his age as this might cause health problem. Report of his cardio logical system in stress, high blood pressure, and undernourishment too came in the news. Orissa government barred Budhia from running.

Budhia came into focus when he ran for seven hours continuously from Puri to Bhubaneswar and made an entry to Limca Book of world record.
