July21: On Friday evening in Srinagar militants carried out six grenade attacks at different places of the city. Six powerful explosions in ronology were taken with surprise and awe by the city people.

Police told that militants dashed a hand grenade in the parking lot of Dalgate, a tourist hub. Three people were injured according to the police.

Other five sites attacked by the militants were Batmallo, Nehru Park and Narbal area of Srinagar.

Explosions sent a wave of terror over the already terror struck city. Security measures have been tightened with police checking every passing vehicle.

Militants targeted not only civil places but also attacked the bunker of the paramilitary forces. In the afternoon the militants threw a grenade on the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) bunker on the Hari Singh Street near assembly building which is just the center of the city. One person who was standing there is reported to be injured in the incident which took place at the heart of the city.

This is to be known that monsoon session is going on in the assembly. In view of this fact and the current blasts the security around the building has been increased.

No military personnel is reported to be injured.

No militant group of the area has come forward to take the responsibility of the blasts.

For last many decades Kashmir has been the target of foreign militants. State department gives account of mainly three militant groups (termed as foreign terrorists) active in Kashmir Harakat-ul-mujahideen, Jaish-e-muhammad, and Lashkar-e-taiba.

Security situation in J&K is worse. Recently the demand of demilitarization of the area put before the prime minister by the state government was declined by the center on the ground of security only.
