Following the footsteps of the two Bollywood Kings – Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan, Sallu Miya too has marched onto the silver screen with the gameshow 'Dus Ka Dum'. Till now we have seen the talents of Amitabh and SRK as a host but now we would acknowledge Salman's abilities as an anchor too.
The much promoted show is in fierce competition with SRK’s 'Kya Aap Panchvi Paas Se Tez Hain'.
The hot dude Salman Khan was earlier not comfortable with the new scenario but he somehow got adjusted with the altered circumstances. By the end of the first part of the show, he got some relief and felt more confident.
The format of ‘10 Ka Dum' is the copycat of US international gameshow 'The Power of Ten'. The show brings an altogether new and adventurous format before the audience. The questions are based on plain common sense and the participant has to answer in terms of percentage. The questions are pre-polled by the common public of India and the contestant who is closest to the nation’s answer is the winner.
The fact that the prize money offered to the winner is 100 million is enough to tickle the interest of the contestant as ell as the audience. It’s more like a dream come true for a layman, even much more than that.
It is the most expensive gameshow at present at Sony and thus the expectations are high. Salman is a mega star and is the biggest plus point for the channel. But as Anupam Kher’s high profile gameshow 'Sawaal Dus Crore Ka' laid prostrate on the television screen, we can never foretell the success of serials of such kind. We can only wait and watch whether the bidding hits the target or not.
