Stop assassinating the character of Aarushi

Fri, 30 May 2008:
Aarushi’s murder has become an issue of prestige and politics for both UP police and for political parties. Press conference of Chief Minister Mayawati appears to be more political and less sensitive. The Chief Minster of a State has come out openly in the support of the police force and promoted the theory ofP police on this murder case.
Even some transcript of SMS’s and few e-mail are circulated, remarks like ‘I cannot tell the entire details as it is against the morality (Maryada ke Kilaf)’ are made. Who is going to decide what “Marayada” is and under which “Maryada” a person should stay in UP.
On the name of morality many ills of society in the past been justified and it is shocking that a Dalit Chief Minister is using the age old terminology which was exactly used by the protégés of Brahmanism and patriarch in India to suppress the rights of the deprived sections.
The police seems to be over excited, confident and sharp by revealing an e-mail in which Aarushi had written ‘I just wanted to try it out coz I heard 4rom mah frndz n vidu too……. I wnt do it again’. Based on this line in the mail UP police is saying that there is something fishy and it was the cause of conflict between the daughter and the father. Just read the lines once more where she had written ‘I just wanted to try it out’ and the second time she had written ‘I wnt do it again’. For the UP cops the ‘wnt’- is ‘want’ according to their interpretation the word ‘wanted’ should be ‘wnted’ but she has written the complete word ‘wanted’ and for me ‘wnt’ can be ‘won’t’.
I, am not a language expert but a regular browser and send regular text and for me one word is used according to its style and if ‘wanted’ is written in one format the same format will be followed, it is mere self-delusion of UP police which has interpreted it in a different way.
What is more painful, depressing, and miserable is UP police theory for the twin murder. They are hell bent to prove that Aarushi was the spoilt kid of 21st century and she was hanging out with boys and had something ‘uncompromising’ with her servant. It is enough, the UP police assassinate a poor girl’s character, and she is not even alive to tell the truth.
UP police has given a moral twist to the entire case and trying to pat their backs. This is the same police which even failed to notice the second dead body in the same house and only a retired police officer find it out. The James Bonds and Sherlock Homes of UP police seem to draw this theory from of tele-soap or from Bollywood masala movies otherwise, they would not have interpreted the email and SMS of Aarushi in the way it had done.
At this age, even friends offer you puff of cigarette and a glass of beer, which can be objectionable for parents. She might have a glass of beer, which may not appreciated by her parents, and she tried to give her reason as well as apology by the email, which look obvious. ‘Impression’ can be made by drinking in the new generation, and if someone doesn't drink he/she is generally termed as outdated, or something else like a cigarette.
There is an advice for all top officials of the UP police not to send any of their kids to a convent/ public schools or else there would a trouble. There can be thousand interpretation of this email for an open and progressive person but for a patriarch, orthodox, and conservative, individual only thing which emerges from this email is ‘something happening behind the closed doors’.
The way police tried to substantiate its theory by giving details of few SMS messages of Aarushi is very objectionable as it is bringing a private communication between two friends in public. Although it is equally foolish to draw conclusion from such SMS as in the 21st century girls and boys do share such SMS text what is wrong in this. I request some of the top brass of UP police to check the mobile of their teenage children they will find many such SMSs. Going with someone does not mean what the UP police want us to believe. The theory of UP police is very outdated and full of loopholes, and not acceptable.
Let UP police bring some facts like fingerprints, some witness, and weapon of murder rather than telling us a story of some B grade novel. Please stop tarnishing the image of a poor girl who was killed when she was not even aware of what the life is all about.
