Heroin worth Rs.140 mn seized in Punjab

Amritsar, Nov 6 (IANS) The Punjab Police seized 14 kg heroin worth Rs.140 million Thursday. Two people, including a ruling Akali Dal politician, have been arrested.

 

Two people carrying the heroin were arrested on the Jandiala-Tarn Taran road near here, Deputy Inspector General of Police Jagdish Mittal to reporters here.

He identified them as Sukhwinder Singh and Kuldip Singh.

 

 

He said the drugs consignment was smuggled into India from Pakistan through Ferozepur district. It was being sent to Delhi and Mumbai.
