Bollywood super star Shahrukh Khan is all set to make a comeback on small screen with the Star Plus new quiz show "Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain?” The show is expected to be on air in April this year.
The show is yet another Indian version of new game show based on "Are You Smarter Than ath Grader?” by Mark Burnett, the British-American television producer, who is also known as the father of reality television by introducing it as a genre in USA.
This reality show seems different from the present one’s with a bit amusing concept, where adults from different walks of life will be tested with questions from fifth grade text-books against the school children.
So this entertainingly educative television show will certainly attract adults and children to take part jointly and testing their knowledge by answering simple trivia questions. Bulldog Media & Entertainment has licensed to re-produce this international game show.
This is the second game/quiz show for Shahrukh Khan after ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’. Khan has said in a media meet that he is extremely fond of children and he will try to reach out to them via this game show.
The Mark Burnett produced “Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?” has so far been replicated in various countries in their local languages with the same title or some different and remained successful all the time. In India too with the popularity of TV reality shows this one will certainly create a buzz in the coming days.
As of the format of the game each single adult contestant will have to answer questions from 5th grade class text books to earn money incrementally based on a payout ladder and if they failed to answer then have to accept that they are not ‘Smarter Than a 5th Grader’.
The quiz show offers direct answer, multiple-choice answers and in some cases contestants will have to select either true or false. With each correct answer the contestant moves one place up with an increased amount and also like the previous popular TV quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati, this too offers the contestant to quit the show at any point of time.
To be a part of this show, students from various schools across the country will also be selected as the classmates of the contestants to use as a lifeline for answering the questions.
