Delhi traffic police comes into action: retains 300 buses in legal custody

Oct 10: Delhi traffic police seized and retained almost 300 private blue line buses for violation of traffic rules. The step was taken due to the rash drivingy the drivers of blueline buses on the roads of Delhi killing innocent citizens.
On Sunday a blueline bus ran over seven people standing on the bus stand. This was not the only incident. The rage of the blue line buses was not over that on Tuesday it ran over three people two of them died.
In view of such incidents Delhi High Court has ordered the government to give explanation about how to get rid of blueline buses.
Amid this chaos the only solution coming forth is the corporatisation. Even the Lt. Governor has accepted that corporate will manage the fleet.
Blueline buses are run on the basis of contract and inexperienced drivers are hired putting on them the pressure of competition.
As a protest BJP leader Vijay Goel drove a blueline bus near the house of chief minister Sheila Dikshit’s residence to convey the message that private buses are being run by the inexperienced and unlicensed drivers as he not only risking the life of those on the road but also those of in the bus.
“I did this to drive home the point that blueline buses are being run by inexperienced drivers like me, putting the lives of Delhiites at risk” said the leader.
The leader was arrested by the police and kept in custody. He can also be charged under certain sections for disrupting the traffic, as he took the protest rally without prior information to the concerned authorities.
This is to be known that during the last 10 months blueline buses has taken the life of almost 90 people by road accidents.
