Oct 09: A 15-member panel participated in the meeting held at the office of External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee, the chairman of the committee on Tuesd but with no outcome.

Another round of discussions is to be held next week. They just exchanged notes on the issue.

Ahead of the UPA-Left meeting on Tuesday both the parties started the blame game by exchange of harsh words and started disowning the responsibility of imposing mid-term polls on the country to save their face from the public.

This is to be known that long battle is going on between UPA and Left due to the differences over the Indo-nuclear deal since the agreement was signed on July 2005. Possibility of mid-term polls looms large due to the tough stand of CPM to withdraw the support from the government if it goes ahead with the deal.

The whole issue has entered its most intense phase with the entry of IAEA International Atomic Energy Association head Mohammad Al Baradei into India on Monday.

Left is insistent on its demand to delay the operationalisation of the deal and put a hold on the talks with IAEA head while government is determined to go ahead with the deal as its delay would kill the agreement.

As in case of no solution to the stand-off, both parties are preparing for the mid-term polls.

On Sunday Sonia Gandhi has been quoted in Jhajjar, Haryana saying that those who are opposing the nuclear deal are opposed to the progress and development of the country. They are not only the enemies of congress but also that of development.

Such statements evoked strong reaction from the Left camp. As a result of which they started questioning the idea of development of Sonia Gandhi.

Meanwhile no time frame has been set up to resolve the issue but seemingly there is pressure on left next meeting of UPA-Left is on Oct 22.
