Delhi set to sizzle, warns weatherman

New Delhi, May 19 (IANS) If you think you have had enough of the sweating and cringing in the scorching summer heat, then be prepared for worse, says the weatherman. With the humidity level already high, met officials say a heat wave is likely to hit Delhi Tuesday.

 

The minimum temperature recorded early Tuesday was 28.5 degrees Celsius, two degrees above the average. But the maximum temperature forecast for the day may get you worried.

 

 

'It will be an exceptionally hot day today with the mercury level likely to touch the 45 degree mark,' An official of the Safdarjung met department said.

 

 

'The heat wave will further add to the discomfort of the Delhiites,' he added.

 

 

The humidity level recorded Tuesday was 56.33 percent. However, there is no sign of any rainfall, the met department said.
