No CBI inquiry in fake encounter case, for the time being: SC
May 03: The apex court in India has declined fresh inquiry in Sohrabuddin killing case by CBI. The Supreme Court has given two weeks time to submit investigation reports and declined to order an inquiry for the time being. The SC will give its final verdict on May 15.
The SC is further supposed to give a verdict on the petition seeking CBI inquiry of the killing of Sohrabuddin Sheikh and haebus corpus petition seeking to trace his wife Kausar Bi.

The court has demanded Gujarat government to present a final report within two weeks.
Supreme Court has also ordered Gujarat government to submit all four reports prepared by CID officers Geeta Johri. Now the court has only one and it is believed to be of much importance in the case.
Earlier on Monday, the Gujarat government admitted that Gujarat police has killed and burnt Kausar Bi after the fake encounter of her husband Sohrabuddin. After hearing this fresh development, Justice Tarun Chatterjee had adjourned the matter to Thursday.
The UPA government in the centre is also keen for a CBI inquiry of the killings. The three senior police officers: D.G. Vanzara, Rajkumar Pandyan and M.N. Dinesh are already arrested by CID. These three officers in a press briefing, after killing Sheikh Sohrabuddin, said that that he was a Lashkar-e-Taiba activist, who had came from Hyderabad to carry out assassination plan of Gujaratā??s Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
