Patna, May 16 (ANI): Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Saturday lost the polls in Pataliputra, but managed to defeat the BJP's candidate Rudy Pratap Singh at Saran.
Lalu was initially trailing behind Saran in the votes tally. Speaking to reporters today Lalu said: "Breaking away from Congress was a mistake, but my loss is the mandate of the people of India."
Lalu also said that he did not hold any grudges against victorious Bihar Chief Minister and NDA leader Nitish Kumar.
According to sources, Lalu was earlier trailing behind BJP's Ranjan Prasad Yadav by a margin of 13,272 votes. (ANI)
