The Olympic gold medallist winner and ace shooter Abhinav Bindra’s father A S Bindra has been admitted into government hospital Thursday night in Chandigarh as he complained a chest pain just after his arrest.

He was rushed to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Sector 32 Chandigarh and admitted into cardiac care unit of the hospital.

The Economic Offence Wing of the Delhi Police had arrested the senior Bindra from his sprawling farmhouse in Mohali Thursday following the order of a Delhi Court.

A few days ago, a Delhi Court had issued a non-bailable warrant in connection with two cases lodged against him in November 2006 and February 2007 in the Connaught Place police station.

He is accused of cheating two financial firms – one private bank and another a finance company – with the tune of Rs.9.31 crore.

A private bank ‘IndusInd Bank’ and a private financial company ‘Apple India Financial Services’ had filed a complaint against senior Bindra for not repaying the loan amounts of Rs.5-crore and Rs.4.31-crore.

The victims have also made a complaint against Bindra for selling that land on which basis he had received the loans.

According to hospital sources, he is still under continuous examination.
