26 killed in Peru bus accident

Lima, May 14 (EFE) Twenty-six people have been killed and 18 others injured when the bus in which they were travelling fell into a ravine in northern Peru, representatives of a travel company said.

 

There were 50 people on board the bus at the time of the accident in the northern Peruvian province of Lambayeque Wednesday.

 

 

The accident occurred after the driver lost control of the bus on a curve, the police.

 

 

The injured were rushed to hospitals in neighbouring areas.

 

 

The official death toll however stood at 11.
