Kathmandu, August 2 (ANI): The Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist (CPN-M) on Saturday tabled a proposal for a common minimum programme to form and operate the next government at the 25-party meeting.

In the meeting held at the Maoists' parliamentary party office at Singha Durbar today, the largest party in the Constituent Assembly (CA) presented its programme for the new government formation, which has been divided, into five parts. However, the other parties said that they would respond only after carrying out a detailed study of the proposal.

The Maoists floated their agendas in order to maintain national unity, implementation of a federal democratic republic, state restructuring, lasting peace and guarantee of peace and security, immediate relief package, reconstruction and revolutionary reforms and socio-economic transformation.

"We have drafted our proposal with an aim to address the forward taking changes in writing a new constitution, to socio-economic transformation and to take the peace process to a logical end," Kantipur quoted Maoist spokesperson Krishna Bahadur Mahara, as saying, he further added, "we call it the best of all."

Mahara said that they have distributed proposal drafts to the other parties. (ANI)
