Other parties are approaching me, says Jayalalitha

Chennai, May 13 (IANS) Former Tamil Nadu chief minister J. Jayalalitha, whose AIADMK is widely expected to bag most of Tamil Nadu's 39 Lok Sabha seats, said Wednesday that several political parties were wooing her.

'There are feelers from many places. I am not responding to them now. Everything depends on the election results (Saturday),' she told reporters here after casting her vote.

Jayalalitha added that if the results were on expected lines, then she would fly to New Delhi to discuss government formation.

The AIADMK is fighting the Lok Sabha elections for the 39 seats in Tamil Nadu and the one seat in Pondicherry along with the PMK, MDMK and the two Communist parties.

Asked if the so-called Third Front with which her party is associated was breaking up, she said: 'I don't wish to comment on this. I have always referred to it as the alternate front.'

Jayalalitha also complained about what she said was manipulation of the electronic voting machines across Tamil Nadu.

'In many polling stations the voting machines are malfunctioning. If a voter presses the button against the 'two leaves' symbol (of AIADMK), the DMK's 'rising sun' lights up. In South Chennai constituency, over 150 voting machines are not working.'
