Train services restored after yesterday's fire in Gautami Express
Hyderabad, Aug 2 (ANI): Train services between the Warangal and Mehboobabad sections in Andhra Pradesh have been restored today, after Gautami Express caught fire on early Friday morning resulting in over 30 deaths.
The number of people who lost their lives is still not clear as the bodies were charred badly and only the skull count indicated that over 30 people have died.
According to sources, the authorities were trying to identify the victims with the help of forensic teams while the passenger charts have revealed that 32 passengers have gone missing.
Railways Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav expressed his profound grief at the tragedy and has announced an ex-gratia amount of Rs. five lakh for the next of kin of the deceased along with a job in the Railways and Rs. one Lakh to the grievously injured. (ANI)
