CPM supports while BJP Cadre demands dismissal of DMK ministers at centre
Sep 21: Despite Sonia Gandhi’s attempt to calm down the controversy and asking congress men to remain away from Ram, the heat goes on and statements from different members of united progressive alliance whether it is DMK or CPM are further adding to the fuel of the controversy.
Currently CPM General-Secretary has supported the statements by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Karunanidhi saying that there is no scientific evidence to show that Ram sethu was a man-formation and the Sethusamudram Ship Canal Project can not be put on hold. He also said there are people with religious believe like us and it is not wrong to express an opinion.
He did not find it correct to halt a major scheme in the name of Ram Sethu. CPM secretary also said that it was BJP government only which gave sanction to the project and now they are trying to take political mileage out of the issue which it failed to do in UP.
In the morning Rajnath Singh BJP chief on behalf o BJP has demanded the dismissal all the DMK ministers at the centre failing the withdrawal of offensive remarks on Lord Ram by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Karunanidhi at the party’s national executive meet in Bhopal.
He said that as DMK is a member of the UPA led coalition, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh should ask TN CM Karunanidhi to withdraw such derogatory and offensive statements.
BJP chief said that none either British or Aurangzeb questioned the historicity of the structure till yet. He called the statements of TN CM as ugly and objects of condemnation.
Yashwant Sinha also hit back on Karunanidhi saying that he can’t give such comments about any other religion, and if he dares, he will be treated badly. He also said that the type of statements Karunanidhi is making constantly do not suit a chief minister of a state.
