Madhesi Janadhikar Forum won't join new Government in Nepal

Kathmandu, Aug 1 (ANI): Coordinator of Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (MJF) Upendra Yadav, has said his party won't be a part of the upcoming Nepal Government.

Speaking at the Reporters Club on Thursday, Yadav said, "We are not going to join the Government by putting the Madhes agenda on hold. Instead, we can play an active role in writing the new Constitution by remaining in the opposition."

Yadav further said that the Maoists should take the initiative to form the government on consensus.

He was of the view that if the Maoists failed to forge consensus other parties would have to come forward to form the Government.

The Nepali Congress and the CPN (UML) are not in a position to claim government's leadership, he said, adding that the Maoists, too, should be adjusted in the current three-party coalition.

He also ruled out the possibility of the MJF-Maoist alliance as the Maoists had betrayed the parties repeatedly, Nepalnews reported. (ANI)
