Imamganj (Bihar), May 7 (ANI): Police personnel helped residents build a bridge in Maoist infested region of Imamganj in Bihar.
The bridge, which connects Bihar to Jharkhand, was important as far local population was concerned. The road from Imamganj to Salviya was constructed under the Prime Minister's Rural Road Development Programme.
The villagers were facing a lot of problems due to the absence of a bridge.
Babita Devi, a villager told the police official, "We can't move on foot here. The vehicles get stuck in this stretch. We are facing a lot of problem here. This bridge becomes more important in case of emergency so the bridge over the river is important," said Devi.
Sri Ram Singh, a police official said that the police thought of joining hands with the residents in building this bridge.
"We have joined hands with the public to build this bridge as the residents were facing a lot of problem during the rains and summers. The vehicular traffic used to come to a standstill. Some passengers used to push their vehicles, which got stuck to get them out of the slush. This road will be completed in two days time,"said Singh.
This is not the first time that the government and residents have joined hands with each other in solving a common problem. By Surya Pratap Singh (ANI)
