New Delhi, April 30 (IANS) Yuki Bhambri is through to the semi-finals of the $15,000 International Tennis Federation (ITF) tournament with yet another quick finish, 6-3, 6-2, over Thai Peerakit Siributwong at a sweltering DLTA complex here Thursday.
Yuki, who has not dropped a set in winning the first ITF tournament last week and in the ongoing one, found the Thai no match.
Peerakit struggled with his serve in energy-sapping conditions. He hit six double faults, five of them in the first set.
Thai's erratic serve made it easy for Yuki, who took the first set with three breaks, in the third, fifth and the ninth game, though the Indian dropped his when he was serving for the set in the eighth.
Yuki again dropped his serve in the very first game of the second set but broke back in the fourth and then reeled off four games in a row to win the set and the match.
Yuki next plays another Thai Weerapat Doakmaiklee, who entered the last four after national champion Ranjeeth Virali-Murugesan retired due to an eye problem, trailing 2-6, 0-1.
It was, however, the end of road for junior Australian champion in the doubles. He and his partner Rohan Gajjar, top seeds, lost their semi-final against fellow Indians and third seeds Divij Sharan and Vishnu Vardhan 3-6, 4-6.
In the other matches, top seed Raven Klaasen proved too good for Vivek Shokeen, winning 6-2, 6-2 and he now plays Vishnu Vardhan in a rematch of last week's semi-final. Vardhan overcame qualifier N. Prashanth 7-6(3), 6-0.
