Michael Douglas' 'The Streets Of San Francisco' to make a comeback

Washington, July 30 (ANI): The 1970's hit cop show 'The Streets Of San Francisco' starring actor Michael Douglas is set to make a comeback to the small screen.

The show was Douglas' his first ever television exposure, and his role as Inspector Steve Keller opposite veteran actor Karl Malden, from 1972 to 1976, brought him fame.

In the new version of the show, a more up to date touch will be given to it, writer Sheldon Turner revealed.

"The times are very similar - it was the Vietnam War in the 1970s and the Iraq War now," Contactmusic quoted Turner as telling Hollywood Reporter.

"There is the same sort of tension between generations, and we wanted to carry that to the new series," Turner said.

The show will be modelling its new cop partners on presidential candidates John MCCain and Barack Obama.

"One, like Obama, wants to be active and believes in rehabilitation, while the other one, like MCCain, doesn't quite believe in rehabilitation and believes that the enemy is the enemy," Turner added. (ANI)
