In the all India final Advani made it one-sided affair by scoring 1946 points against 1488 points of his opponent, Dhruv.
Advani was defending his title for the point format too where he could not perform well. That title was won by Rupesh Shah defeating Ashok Shandilya. But he won the time format that is the traditional format of the billiards championship. He admitted that he is not going through a good phase of his career but expressed satisfaction over this victory.
It took six-hour for Advani to win the trophy at the Orchid Country Club.
Singapore ’s top player Peter Gilchrist could not make it in any of the formats.
Two time world champion accepted that it is not easy to maintain the position at top and that too after a bad performance in the point format. He told that the match with former world champion Peter Gilchrist was his best game.
Sitwala made his entry to the final by defeating former champion Geet Sethi. He said, “It was tough to lose after beating Sethi and Shandilya. But the breaks of Pankaj in the last moment game finished me.”
Next target of Advani is the Asian indoor championship to be held in Macau in November.
