School van driver arrested for molesting child

Ghaziabad, April 27 (IANS) The driver of a school van was arrested here Monday for allegedly molesting an eight-year-old child while on the way to school, police said.

Shashi Kant Kamath was arrested Monday morning from a private school in Bulandshahr Road Industrial Area of Ghaziabad, police said.

Kamath was caught red handed after the child complained to his father of the driver's actions. The child's father followed the school van in his car. At a traffic signal when he saw his son was taken near the driver's seat and that Kamath was hugging the child, he nabbed the driver red handed, police said.

The conductor Ravi Karan fled the spot, police said.

'We have booked the driver and are attempting to arrest his accomplice Ravi Karan,' the Superintendent of Police (City) Anant Deo said.
