The whole music lovers in the nation and Bollywood music fraternity deeply mourned after hearing the shocking news last night on television. Friends, relatives and fans rushed to his residence in the hometown Ludhiana to be a part of the grieved family.
Born in 1989, the 20-year-old Ishmeet who was also a second year student of Bachelors of Commerce had a deep interest in music from the very childhood. Leaving his study aside for music, he participated in the television reality show and later crowned the title from the pious hands of legendary musical figure Lata Mangeskar.
"I was very happy when he won the Voice of India contest. Such a fate to befall one at such a young age -- I have no words to express my feelings," said Lata Mangeskar to a television channel.
During his competition days, he was always praised by all the mentors for his voice clarity and uniqueness, as he never seems to imitate anyone. As a shy boy, Ishmeet seemed the most serious among all others but his singing style was truly a gifted one, different from others.
He was also a part of ‘Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar’, a singing competition on Star Plus channel. Aiming for a footprint in the world of playback singing, he had dreamt to sing with the likes of Shan, AR Rahman, Abhijeet Singh and all other top singers.
Certainly a big tragedy to Ishmeet’s family, friends, fans and to the whole music world, but destiny had other plans for him. May his soul rest in peace!
