Knight Riders posts first win in IPL2
In a rain-interrupted Indian Premier League (IPL) match, the Kolkata Knight Riders thrashed Kings XI Punjab by 11 runs by the Duckworth-Lewis method on Tuesday. The Riders registered their first win in the tournament.
Electing to field first, the Kolkata Knight Riders’ bowlers, especially Sourav Ganguly who claimed two crucial wickets, restricted the Kings XI at 158.

Skipper Yuvraj Singh top scored with 38 off 28 balls for Mohali.
Earlier, Irfan Pathan, who was promoted up in the order quick fired 32 runs off just 17 balls. Kumar Sangakkara (26 runs off 24 balls) and Mahela Jayawardene (31 runs off 19 balls) played some good knocks taking their team to a respectable total of 158.
However, the lucky man Chris Gayle, who was dropped twice in his innings hammered the Kings XI bowlers all-around the park. Gayle was unbeaten at 44 (26-ball) and the Knight Riders were at 79 for one after 9.2 overs when rain interrupted the match.
Skipper Brendon McCullum (21 runs off 16 balls) supported him well and added 57 runs for the first wicket. Gayle was declared 'Man of the Match' for his brilliant inning.
The second match of the Day-4 between scheduled between Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians was abandoned due to rain.
