Murder charge to stick on UK men who kill their wives
London, July 29 (ANI): The British Government is likely to close a legal loophole today that lets brutal husbands avoid justice.
According to The Sun, men who kill their wives will be charged with murder. They will no longer be able to save themselves with the plea that they killed because of extreme provocation.
Under existing laws, men in Britain can escape with a reduced charge of manslaughter if their wives were unfaithful - meaning killers are out of jail within two years instead of serving life.
They can also escape a murder charge if they endure "persistent nagging" or fear their partner might leave them.
Women's Minister Harriet Harman will unveil changes to the law on homicide. The details will be outlined in the Queen's Speech in the autumn and take effect from next year.
The crackdown comes as the Government publishes the UK's first domestic homicide map. (ANI)
