Tue, 01 Jan 2008 ANI

Kathmandu, July 28 (ANI): Nepal political parties represented in the Constituent Assembly (CA) today advised the CPN (Maoist) to take initiative for the formation of a unity Government in Nepal.

At the all-party meeting here, the parties suggested that Maoist being the largest party in the Constituent Assembly should try to garner consensus to lead the next Government.

During the meeting organised by Maoists mainly to discuss the formation of new government, the issue of Nepal's participation in the SAARC summit and the episode of Vice President taking oath in Hindi also cropped up.

Majority of the political parties in the meeting were of the opinion that a delegation led by caretaker Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala should not be sent to the SAARC summit. nstead, they suggested that newly elected President Ram Baran Yadav represent Nepal in the 15th SAARC summit.

On the Vice President swearing issue, Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' was of the opinion that there should be an intellectual debate on the issue and called on all to be careful not to let the episode tarnish the communal harmony, Nepalnews reported. (ANI)
