Thano/Mendha (Uttarakhand), Apr 19 (ANI): Farmers in Uttarakhand have said that they will vote for a party that helps end their problems.
Irate farmers of Thano and Mendha villages allege that the formation of Uttarakhand has not been of much help to them.
The biggest challenge faced by the farmers in this agricultural heartland of Uttarakhand is water and erratic rainfall.
"Water is our biggest problem. Due to scanty rainfall, our fields are also dry. So, we will vote for only that party, which will solve our problems," said Lila Negi, a farmer.
Farmers also complain that politicians only surface during polls.
"During every election, party candidates come and make false promises. But once the elections are over, they forget about their promises and don't even bother to enquire. They should ask themselves on what basis should they go and ask the people for vote," said Surendar Uniyal, another farmer.
Others feel whether it's the Congress party or the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), if they don't fulfill the farmer's demands, they should be condemned. By Ashish Goel (ANI)
