Koirala to attend 15th SAARC Summit
Kathmandu, July 28 (ANI): The 15th South Asian Association Regional Cooperation (SAARC) summit which is due to be held this week at Colombo will be attended by Nepal's caretaker Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala.
The meeting of the Council of Ministers decided to send 35-member delegates in the leadership of Koirala in this years SAARC summit due to the delay in the formation of the government.
The decision has been taken amidst Maoist objection over Koirala attending the summit.
During the meeting, few ministers suggested that President Dr Ram Baran Yadav could lead the delegation. However, the cabinet, that has majority of Nepali Congress minister, turned down the proposal.
The summit will be focused on shortage of food and oil crisis and the problems of terrorism in Nepal, Nepalnews reported. (ANI)
