Winehouse offered £1m gig for playboy prince
London, July 27 (ANI): Amy Winehouse may get a whopping 1 million pounds if she agrees to perform for oil-rich Azim of Brunei, known for his playboy charms.
And from what her pals say, the Rehab singer is most likely to accept the offer, as she wants to give hubby Blake Fielder-Civil a new start in life after he's released from jail. While the suffering singer had declared that she won't take up more assignments after a booking on September 6, it seems that she may green light the lavish November bash planned by music lover Prince Azim.
"The offer comes at a time when Blake is very much on Amy's mind. Things still need to be worked out but, if she does the gig, she will hand the fee straight to Blake who should be free soon afterwards," The Daily Star quoted a pal, as saying.
The friend added: "She thinks it will give him something to make a clean start with. And he can plan how best to use the money during the rest of his sentence. One idea is that he could use the cash to set himself up in business."
Amy was earlier hoping that Blake would be released this week, but she came to know a few days back that he will have to stay inside until December.
The pal said: "Amy genuinely believed Blake could be out. So she is very upset. She desperately needs a rest and her dad Mitch is determined she won't perform again after the summer. But she could well accept the prince's invitation now."
London-based Azim, 25, is the son of the Sultan of Brunei and will inherit a slice of his father's 25billion pounds oil fortune. He has a reputation for lavishing gifts on his favourite music and TV stars. (ANI)
