Congress worried about Left initiating a third front, says Karat
Vadakancherry (Kerala), Apr 9 (ANI): Communist Party of India- Marxist (CPM) General Secretary Prakash Karat on Thursday said that the Congress is worried about Communists initiating the formation of a Third Front.
"Yesterday, Congress President Sonia Gandhi in her election campaign in Kerala charged the left parties of having joined hands with the BJP. What is the reality? She has said this because the Congress is worried that the CPM and the left parties have taken the initiative to gather various non- Congress, non- BJP parties into a powerful combination," Karat said while addressing a election rally here.
He was referring to Congress President Sonia Gandhi's election rally in Kerala yesterday in which she had severely criticised the CPM, saying it was a 'prisoner of an outdated mindset'.arat also asked the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government to probe the missile deal with Israel.
"CPM had not made any allegations against Defence Minister A. K. Antony. But what the Left front wanted was an inquiry into the missile deal in the light of the allegations," he added. (ANI)
