Only 21 films were selected out of a total of 135 films that filled the submission forms. The festival aims at educating the commons about Human Rights by spreading awareness amongst masses.
A six-minute animal film The Mall on Top of my House, directed by Aditi Chitre is to be screened along with foreign films at the 6-day festival and will serve to be the main attraction of the festival. The film deals with the displacement of a fisherman due to rampant land reclamation.
The festival is expected to be a grand success and Gayatri Konkar of Moving Images said she hopes the festival will draw a bigger audience. Every screening will be followed by a discussion.
Tri-continental Film Festival is organised by Moving Images, Goa, Entertainment Society of Goa and International Centre in collaboration with Breakthrough New Delhi.
