Dainik Jagran to take disciplinary action against shoe scribe
New Delhi, April 7 (IANS) Hindi daily Dainik Jagran condemned the action of its journalist Jarnail Singh, who Tuesday threw a shoe at Home Minister P. Chidambaram over the issue of 1984 anti-Sikh riots, and said disciplinary action was being taken against him.
'This is a personal matter of Jarnail Singh and the publication Dainik Jagran has nothing to do with it.

And it is against the tradition, ritual, culture, rules and regulations of the organisation,' the newspaper said here in a press statement.
'We condemn the action of our special correspondent of throwing shoe on Home Minister P. Chidambaram during the press conference. Considering his condemnable act, the organisation is taking disciplinary action against him,' the statement added.
Jarnail Singh was taken into custody but later let off for hurling his shoe during a press conference at the Congress headquarters here. He was unhappy over the minister's reply on the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.
