Delhi's handicap paddlers on a roll
The Delhi Paralympic table tennis team came out with flying colours as they clinched a total of five medals, including one gold and two sliver and bronze medals, at the 2009 Paralympic National Table Tennis championship held at Bangalore.
The event was organised under the aegis of Paralympic Committee of India in association with Paralympic Table Tennis Federation of India.
Promising Sonu Gupta claimed the only gold medal for Delhi in the sitting category while Vasudev and Vijay Kumar had to settle for silver and bronze in the same category.
Delhi paddlers also stood tall in the standing category with Pradeep Raj clinching silver medal and Anup Singh settled for bronze.
All the paddlers are being professionally trained under the guidance of expert coaches at the Indraprastha Sports Table Tennis Academy run by Indraprastha Sports Social Welfare Society at the premises of Handicapped Welfare Federation, Delhi.
