Congress pits Shekhar Suman against Shatrughan Sinha in general polls
New Delhi/ Patna, Apr 7 (ANI): The Congress party, in a political tit for tat move, pitted a television actor Shekhar Suman against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Shatrughan Sinha, a former Bollywood actor, at Patna Sahib.Shekhar Suman said it would not be a "clash of personalities, but a clash of ideologies."
"If you like the principles, ideologies, ethics and thinking of any political party then it is your belief, and if somebody does not agree with it, then it is his belief. This is true democracy where we agree to disagree," Suman said in New Delhi.
The Congress also came down heavily on the BJP for terming Prime Ministeranmohan Singh as 'weak.'
"The BJP said that Manmohan Singh is a weak Prime Minister, but he cannot be more weak leader than Advani. It is Advani who is a weak leader," said Congress leader Kapil Sibal.
Meanwhile, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that though he shared good personal relations with Suman that would not translate into support for the Congress candidate.
"I share a good relationship with Suman. But you know that our candidate is Shatrughan Sinha," Nitish said in Patna. (ANI)
