Maoists blow up a school in Bihar
Patluka (Bihar), Apr 5 (ANI): Maoists blew up a school in Patluka village of Gaya District in Bihar on Saturday.
According to police officials, a group of around 20-25 armed Maoists blew up the school and stuck a poster on the spot. The poster said the building was destroyed to prevent security forces from using it in the future.
"The Maoists blew up the school at around 1 a.m. in the night. Chattra border is nearby so we have alerted the border police about the incident. We are now planning a joint operation with them against Maoists. This incident is an act of cowardice as they have attacked a school. We will take a strict action on them," said M. R. Nayak, superintendent of police, Gaya.
Locals said they had been tired of the bloody agitation.
"We don't know what issues they have with the government but the local public is being affected badly. Our children who used to go to school, have been affected and because of such incidents the development of the area has come to a standstill," said Ramchandra Yadav, a villager. (ANI)
