TDP MPs who voted for UPA face disciplinary action, says Yerran Naidu
Hyderabad, July 23 (ANI): Disciplinary action will be initiated against the two Telugu Desam Party's (TDP) MPs, D. K. Adikeshavulu Naidu and M. Jagannadham, for voting in favour of the trust vote in Parliament over the Indo-US civil nuclear deal.
K Yerran Naidu, TDP's leader in Parliament said here today, "This is a serious betrayal and breach of trust. We will take it seriously and initiate disciplinary action against the erring members."
The TDP received a jolt, when two of its five MPs in the Lok Sabha switched loyalties and supported the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government in the confidence motion voting on Tuesday night.In the July 22 trust vote won by the UPA Government by a margin of 19 votes, as many as 21 MPs belonging to different political parties, including the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Congress cross-voted. Ten members remained absent or abstained from voting.
In the division of votes, the UPA Government got 275 votes in its favour, while 256 voted against it. (ANI)
