Hyderabad, March 29 (IANS) India's top women's doubles combination Jwala Gutta and Shruti Kurian may have decided to split, but they will have to play together till May, said Badminton Association of India (BAI) Sunday.
Gutta and Shruti have played together for a decade and are currently ranked 27 in world.
The pair's form and relationship touched a new low at the All England Open earlier this month.
'Their game was declining and if they have decided to split for better results, its fine. We do not have any problem. But they will have to play together till May because their names have been listed for some tournaments,' BAI president V.K.Verma said.
According to BAI, Jwala and Shruti will have to play together in Asian Badminton Championships and Sudirman Cup mixed team badminton championships.
Jwala is likely to team up with Ashwini Ponappa, while Shruti has approached Aparna Balan as her new partner.
