Poll activity on high in Kashmir, Manipur

Jammu /Imphal, Mar 29 (ANI): People's Democratic Party (PDP) patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has assured that he will remove disparities between Jammu and Kashmir's three regions - Kashmir, Jammu and Ladakh.

 

"In our upcoming political agenda, we not only address Kashmir, but also regional aspirations of Jammu and Ladakh region," he said on the sidelines of a public rally on Saturday.

 

Meanwhile, former convenor of Amarnath Sangrash Samiti and a candidate of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Leela Karan Sharma and his rival Madan Lal Sharma of Congress party filed their nominations for the Jammu-Poonch constituency in Kashmir.

 

The poll process also picked momentum in Manipur as four candidates filed their nominations for the Outer Manipur constituency. The seat goes to polls in the first phase on April 16.

 

Those who entered the fray are Thangso Baite of Congress, Valley Rose Hungyo, an independent, former lawmaker Mani Charanamei as People's Democratic Alliance candidate and Loli Adani, a BJP nominee.

 

"I would hammer out all my efforts to go in for emotional integration and an all-round development," Adani said after filing his nomination.

 

On March 25, LD Sona had filed nomination as a common candidate of the Manipur People's Party and Nationalist Congress Party. (ANI)
