Karachi, March 25 (IANS) Pakistan has ruled out the idea of taking the postponed One-day series against Bangladesh to United Arab Emirates (UAE) this summer.
A senior Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official said the proposal to play the series against Bangladesh that was postponed because of security-related problems in Dubai and Abu Dhabi in May is not feasible because of the extremely hot weather in UAE during that time of the year.
Saleem Altaf, the PCB chief operating officer, said that temperature touch the 40-45 degrees Celsius mark in May in UAE and it would be impossible to have international cricket matches in such heat.
Pakistan chief selector Abdul Qadir had floated the idea of having the series against Bangladesh in UAE after Pakistan hosts Australia for five one-dayers and a Twenty20 game in Dubai and Abu Dhabi from April 22-May 7.
Pakistan had around 15 'free' days after the series against Australia as its next assignment after the games in UAE is the World Twenty20 Championship in England starting June 5.
Bangladesh was forced to call off its home series against Pakistan that was supposed to be played in March because of security concerns. Pakistan was scheduled to play five one-day internationals and two Twenty20 games in Dhaka and Chittagong.
Altaf said Pakistan and Bangladesh will soon discuss new dates for the series.
