National, Mon, 23 Mar 2009 IANS

Raipur, March 23 (IANS) The police Monday recovered bodies of four tribals allegedly kidnapped by Maoists a day earlier in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district, officials said.

'The rebels had abducted four men, all aged around 30, late Sunday from Tarlaguda village and their bodies were recovered Friday from Annaram area,' Ankit Garg, district superintendent of police, told IANS over telephone.

The bodies were recovered in the heavily forested areas of the district some 500 km from here.

The police said the tribals were killed as they were suspected to be informers by Maoists.
