Bangalore, March 21 (IANS) Kevin Pietersen, former captain of the England cricket team, is going to be the skipper of the Bangalore Royal Challengers team at IPL Twenty20 tournament this year, team owner Vijay Mallya announced Saturday.
Pitersen replaces Rahul Dravid as the Royal Challengers captain for the second season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Jacques Kallis of South Africa will be the vice captain.
'As you know, Rahul (Dravid) and his wife are expecting their child,' Mallya said on the TV channel NDTV 24x7. 'He has indicated to us his possible unavailability for the IPL this year.'
