For NCP, it's Amisha Patel or Ajay Jadeja from Rajkot

Rajkot (Gujarat), March 20 (IANS) The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has decided to field a celebrity from Rajkot in Gujarat and the toss-up is between former cricketer Ajay Jadeja or Bollywood actress Amisha Patel.

Confirming this, the NCP's Gujarat unit chief Jayant Patel said: 'Yes, it is true that we are going to field a celebrity from the Rajkot seat. The choice is between Ajay Jadeja or Amisha Patel. The central leadership in New Delhi will now decide who should be fielded from Rajkot.'

'Both Amisha Patel and Ajay Jadeja have their roots in Gujarat. The celebrity status and the popularity of the two well-known figures will help us win,' he said.

'We certainly are very keen to field another celebrity from the Ahmedabad (East) Lok Sabha seat as star value certainly works everywhere in the country. Now it is for the central leadership to decide who should be fielded from the seat,' Patel added.
