PCB chief Ijaz Butt, Senators at loggerheads again
Karachi, Mar.20 (ANI): There seems to be no end to the fight between Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Ijaz Butt and the Senate's Standing Committee on Sports, as Butt has once again challenged the committee's authority by writing a letter to its chairman, Farooq Naek.
Butt has challenged the Senate's authority to interfere in the working of the apex cricket body.
Butt's stance has reportedly miffed Senate members.
"Butt has done nothing right since taking over as PCB chairman. Senate is the upper house of the Parliament which is the supreme authority according to the constitution, and it has every right to question the working of the board," member of the Senate's previous sports committee, Tahir Mashhadi said.
Mashhadi said that a case of sedition could be initiated against Butt if he is found guilty of breaching the Senate's privilege.
Butt is already facing a privilege motion filed against him by five Senators after he asked the sports committee not to cross its limits. (ANI)
