St Poelten (Austria), March 19 (DPA) Josef Fritzl was found guilty Thursday of murder through neglect and sentenced to lifelong imprisonment, for the death of a baby he fathered with his daughter Elisabeth, in a windowless dungeon below his house.

The 73-year-old Austrian was also found guilty on all counts of slavery, rape, incest and false imprisonment. The verdict was reached unanimously by an eight-member jury on the fourth day of the trial. Under Austrian law, all sentences will run concurrently.

Fritzl unexpectedly admitted his guilt on all charges Wednesday, including the murder of an infant who died in the cellar shortly after birth, and the charge of slavery relating to the conditions in which he held his daughter in the cramped, windowless dungeon.

In Austria murder carries lifelong imprisonment, while slavery carries 20 years. An expert psychologist recommended to the court that Fritzl should be admitted indefinitely to a facility for abnormal offenders at the end of his sentence.
